After 23 years... and still growing strong. Warwick's only local radio station, community radio Rainbow-FM 89.3, first went to air on 23rd October 1995.
We are a not-for-profit organisation owned and operated by the Warwick Community FM Radio Assoc. Inc. We provide a local voice for issues and concerns regarding the Southern Downs region and beyond.
Our broadcast studios are located at 20 Willi St in Warwick, Queensland, Australia. Rainbow-FM transmits on an effective radiated broadcast power of 2,000 watts on 89.3 MHz, plus we stream all our programs live on the internet - we have many loyal listeners not just locally, but all around Australia and from all over the world. Click on the "Listen Live" icon on the screen to listen on the Internet.
Community Radio is all about variety, diversity and independence (re. CBAA Codes of Practice).
We present many and varied live-to-air programs (presented by a dedicated team of Volunteers from the local community), who play all various and different genres and styles of music.
We broadcast 24/7 (168 hours/week), and have 123+ hours of live and locally presented programs weekly, 82% of which is music. Rainbow-FM has our own locally produced breakfast programs 6.00-9.00am seven days a week.
We also broadcast an AIR News service seven days-a-week, 6.00am-6.00pm Monday to Sunday, plus regular local News, Rural Reports, and community announcements.
